چکیده
Background Hand function deterioration is a major multifactorial driver of disability in Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) whose rate has been poorly described. Objectives The aim this study to describe incidence and risk factors hand functional worsening longitudinal, multicenter, observational SSc cohort. Methods involvement were evaluated consecutively enrolled patients for 24 months. Patient-reported impairment was captured with Cochin Disability Score (CHFS) the corresponding minimal clinical important differences (MCID) patient acceptable symptom state (PASS). Clinical association CHFS change over time clinically meaningful (MCID-Worsening) investigated. Results Three-hundred-ninety-six from 10 centres 201 (age 55.7±12.2 years, male 13.4%) included final analysis. Median (IQR) disease duration 5 (2-11) years while proportion diffuse cutaneous variant 29.9%. Fifty-six (27.8%) had ≥PASS at baseline. increased 35.8% reaching CHFS≥PASS (p<0.001), 52.2% reporting MCID-Worsening A LASSO model simultaneously exploring effects multiple baseline variables showed that associated gender, LeRoy variant, late capillaroscopy pattern, shorter duration, absence digital ulcers, presence tenosynovitis, pain, Raynaud’s phenomenon, global severity, together treatment immunosuppressants, vasoactive medications, second-line analgesics. Conclusion tends deteriorate one two despite available therapies assessment support stratification. These results pave way inform design intervention studies aimed improving outcome SSc. Statistical analysis of clinical and laboratory characteristics of systemic sclerosis
Background: Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is an autoimmune connective tissue disease characterized by vasculopathy and excessive collagen deposition in the skin and internal organs. Based on the skin damage we divide the patients into two groups: limited and diffuse SSc. In restricted type, the thickness of the skin is limited in the face and distal parts of the elbows and knees, with less involveme...

Correspondence to: Ka-Man Chan Abstract: Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) is a heterogenous multi-system connective tissue disorder with considerable morbidity and mortality. Assessment of the extent of skin disease is an essential part in the diagnosis and monitoring of SSc. Newer methods such as high frequency dermal ultrasound, durometry and elastometry provide high accuracy for skin assessment and ...

OBJECTIVE To identify factors, individual and work related, influencing work ability, and to assess the association between work ability and employment status, activities of daily life (ADLs) and quality of life in patients with SSc. METHODS Fifty-seven consecutive patients (53 females/4 males) with SSc (47 lcSSc/10 dcSSc) were included. Median age was 58 [interquartile range (IQR) 47-62] yea...
